Nice!

Mastering does need some work, but don't be so critical of your own stuff before anyone's said anything. I loved it, hope you make more in this vein. I'd be interested to know where you felt the mastering went wrong. If you want to bring the vocals out, sidechain the cymbals to some compression on them, so the higher end bends around them. But that's an artistic choice. This won't get the credit it deserves, but I really enjoyed, ending especially.

Kreos responds:

Wow, thank's! I may be a little pessimist about my works, yeah...
I did some songs like this, I can recomend some if you want (not too much to look at anyways).
I felt the mastering was wrong becase I had to low down the volume basically 50%, and because I had a lot of problems to make it sound decently mastered... can't right now name any part.
I didn't understand the part of the vocals...
I'm glad you enjoyed it, more if you liked that much the ending (:

Thanks for the review!

MOAR MASTERIN

Things for you to look into: Side-chaining the bass and drums. Adding in higher parts. Strengthening the snare. Vocalising the hi-hat, Using less vibrato. Writing more tonally centered bass parts.

metalheadmarch responds:

Indeed I will, ty for some critique...I'm still floating around aimlessly when it comes to figuring out what genre to classify my crap..I'll be sure to check out your stuff n vote!

Nice, but could do with more mixing.

Really loved the individual parts, but I think more parts should be sidechained to the bass drum to keep it pounding. Equally, I think it lacked depth in terms of the parts/ A strong subbass is easy anything to whack on in and should only take ten minutes to write for. Two minor points, but two things I think definitely worth considering. Loving everything elsee though :)

DJZelize responds:

Hey, thanks for leaving a comment:)

Yeah, I agree with you. And the thing is, I just started with DnB, and I still have a lot to learn about the genre :P But I will get more serious next year. I.e with mixing and all that. (Tbf, I was looking at videos for sidechaining and mixing earlier, and now I know that it is reaally important by the fact that people mention it in comments^^)

Take care!

Very nice!

Don't hear much neurofunk about these parts, loving the power of this track. The beat, the glitches, just everything, so pro. Keep it up, 10/ 5/ DL.

YakovlevArt responds:

Yeah I can agree on that.
I'm glad you liked everything (pretty much)
Thanks for the DL too =]

Awesome! :D

Don't here enough drumstep here IMO, but then again I would say that! Very very nice, track can't think of any creative crit save that I want more! Well earned a five and a download, keep it up!

TheRealSam responds:

Thanks a lot! So it's drumstep ahah alright, I still don't really see the difference with dnb but oh well :)
I don't know if I'll make more, I'm not at ease enough yet with the plugins I'm using, so it takes some time for me to produce one dnb/dubstep/drumstep song :/ Which is a shame because I've got plenty of ideas for this genre. Anyway, we'll see how it turns out.

Very nice, lots of interest in the higher register

I really enjoyed this track, full of lush, catching effective musical ideas. Only problem is in their realisation: mixing etc., but really, that's what NG's about! The parts flow effortlessly, and you've clearly heard this before writing it, it has SO MUCH in terms of the composition! :)

To make this bigger, fuller, more satisfying, I think there are several techniques you should look into: transient compression on the drums, layering of parts on the drums (two sanres, two bassdrums at once etc.), maybe more reverb on the violin and some delay on some parts, it'd make the song feel like it has more space. Also maybe have a look into using other kits: I felt the snare in the half time section maybe could have been more mid heavy, and the hi hat for me wasn't quiiiiiiite bright enough. That said, I bring these up only as points for you to take on boar, or not, as routes to explore in future.

This song is thoroughly deserving of a ten.

thanks a lot for your review :)

Not too shabby! :D

IMO would benefit from some more Mastering work, maybe something on the treble end, some sawtooths and squares or something, love the beat though :)

Although i must say, its all about Hallowe'en dnb, so only 9/ 5 :P

Thats definitely do-able, and yea.. I probably should've made a Halloween D&B song, But in anycase I'm glad my first official D&B song is "Not too shabby"
Thats great to hear xD
Thanks for the feedback, I'll definitely look into some Sawtooth and Square work!

BUFF!

Just needs more mid bass for me, but on the whole well worthy of a 10/ 5 solid production value! :D AKACCMIOF

Euphy responds:

Thanks dude! :D

Hahaha, lush stuff!

I'd love to know the story behind it! Only thing for me is the lack of vocals, but that's a pretty darn minor point. 10 & 5 & download. Keep it up! AKACCMIOF

RyeGuyHead responds:

Stay tuned for more..the story is an epic one!

Nice!

All very good, but maybe use a different drum kit, one with a deeper, harder kick, and a harder brighter snare, and try using some hat too :) Very enjoyable though, and i'll 5 and download.

9 & 5 & Download

KowaiKowia responds:

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I really appreciate it! :3
I will think about that when remaking a few of my old songs after I'm done uploading the old stuff here! ^^
